Job Description

A Solutions Engineer is a proven technical leader within Alchemy Technology Group who provides superior delivery services to customers, demonstrates technical mastery, and is a subject matter expert. The role is accountable for reinforcing and continuing the development of the Alchemy mission of transformative disruption in both theory and practice.  

​​Role and Responsibilities​ 

•  Function as a technical influencer to support the company mission, vision, and overall strategy 
• Design and engineer technical infrastructure solutions centered around the Alchemy technology stack 
• Create well-crafted documentation for assigned engagements, peer-review final deliverables, and help mentor junior consultants
• Track time and expenses daily to ensure compliance with professional services and consulting policies
• Provide pre-sales/technical support to Alchemy Account Executives to drive revenue and opportunity expansion
• Comply with established policies and procedures communicated to all personnel by the Alchemy leadership team
• Uphold the values of Alchemy, ensuring customer satisfaction and successful engagement closeout
• Work effectively with peers and PMO to ensure successful customer outcome’s
• Work hands-on with customers, primarily in a post-sales role, to provide innovative consulting and deployment services
• Perform hands-on design, configuration, and troubleshooting of Identity and Access Management products
• Gather, analyze, and document post-sales requirements
• Be proactive in providing outstanding design and deployment services, resulting in outstanding customer satisfaction
• Provide high-quality service and leadership to align with customer goals and requests
• Mentor and train customers on Identity services
• Collaborate with the sales team on existing customers’ up-sell and cross-sell opportunities
• Manage multiple concurrent deployment projects 

Qualifications and Education 

As an Alchemist, the preliminary qualifications for employment are attitude and aptitude. These are essential characteristics to begin the journey towards extraordinary outcomes. To complete the profile as a Solutions Engineer, the following qualifications are required: 

• General knowledge of cloud architecture as well as on-premise IT landscape
• Advanced experience leveraging Active Directory (Users, Groups, OU’s, and Group Policy Objects) and complete understanding of core infrastructure services, including PKI, DNS, DHCP, and DFS
• Knowledge and experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Security space preferred
• Specifically Okta and/or Entra ID
• Experience designing and implementing solutions to support mission-critical and business programs
• Some experience with technologies and protocols to support identity federation and robust access control models (e.g., SAML 2.0,  WS-Federation, WS-Trust, OAuth, OpenID)
• Some knowledge of enterprise web technologies, security, and cutting-edge infrastructures
• Experience working with REST APIs and SDKs 
• Experience with one or more authentication or authorization protocols (OAuth, OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, LDAP)
• Experience working with HTTP, HTML, and REST services. This includes the ability to use the dev tools in a browser to explain HTTP traffic and an HTTP client (like curl or Postman) to interact with an HTTP service
• Understanding of core security concerns within a typical application (password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, XSRF)
• Multi-tasking ability is a must
• Comfortable and willing to be a hands-on contributor
• Excellent communication skills, including issue tracking, triaging, and crisis management
• Experience in Process Improvement, Decision Making, Managing Processes, Planning, Analyzing Information and Developing Standards.
