Job Description
The Microsoft Licensing Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing Microsoft software licensing agreements. This role involves ensuring compliance with licensing terms, providing strategic guidance on licensing options, and supporting customers in maximizing the value of their Microsoft spend.Â
Key Responsibilities:Â
- License Management: Oversee the acquisition, renewal, and management of Microsoft software licenses. Remain current on all Microsoft licensing changes. Build and action customer upsell/cross-sell strategies to grow CSP revenues. Participate in quarterly customer tenant review meetings.
- Compliance: Ensure customers are compliant with Microsoft licensing terms and conditions, conducting regular customer assessments.
- Advisory: Provide expert advice on licensing strategies, cost optimization, and best practices. Develop and deliver license assessment services. Consult with customers on license strategies, including EA deconstruction.
- Vendor Relations: Maintain relationships with Microsoft and other vendors to stay updated on licensing changes and opportunities. Publish blogs/social posts highlighting important licensing concerns and changes.
- Training: Educate sellers on Microsoft changes to licensing products, policies, and procedures.
- Support: Assist in resolving licensing issues and queries from various departments/customers.Â
Qualifications:Â
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in software licensing, preferably with Microsoft products.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Licensing Specialist or similar are a plus.Â
