Job Description
A Microsoft Sr. Solutions Engineer is a proven technical leader within Alchemy Technology Group who provides superior delivery services to customers, demonstrates technical mastery and a subject matter expert. The role is accountable for reinforcing and continued development of the Alchemy mission of transformative disruption in both theory and practice.
​​Role and Responsibilities​
- Function as a technical influencer to support the company mission, vision, and overall strategy
- Design and engineer technical infrastructure solutions centered around the Alchemy technology stack
- Create well-crafted documentation for assigned engagements, peer-review final deliverables, and help mentor junior consultants
- Track time and expenses daily to ensure compliance with professional services and consulting policies
- Provide pre-sales/technical support to Alchemy Account Executives to drive revenue and opportunity expansion
- Maintain a current understanding of the technology solutions within your subject matter area, relevant certifications, and any secondary skill sets
- Comply with established policies and procedures communicated to all personnel by the Alchemy leadership team
- Uphold the values of Alchemy, ensuring customer satisfaction and successful engagement closeout
- Work effectively with peers and PMO to ensure a successful customer outcome’s
Qualifications and Education
- As an Alchemist, the preliminary qualifications for employment are attitude and aptitude. These are essential characteristics to begin the journey towards extraordinary outcomes. To complete the profile as a Sr. Solutions Engineer the following qualifications are required:
- Ideally the candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field;
- Five (5) years of applied experience working with the respective technologies in a consulting or enterprise setting;
- Exceptional knowledge in deploying basic to complex vendor solutions;
- Applicable certifications demonstrating mastery of core components for the respective technologies.
- Advanced understanding of application and operating system interaction in a hands-on environment.
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Windows Client and Server Operating Systems.
- Intermediate understanding of physical and logical network concepts including firewalls, switches, routers, and load balancers.
- Intermediate experience leveraging the Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms, specifically focusing on:
- Azure Active Directory
- SAML, OIDC and SSO Integrations
- MFA and Conditional Access
- Teams
- E5 Security suite (Defender for Endpoints, Defender for Identity, Defender for Office 365)
- Exchange Online
- OneDrive
- Cloud App Security
- Security and Compliance
- Azure Information Protection
- Labeling
- Azure services, including VPN/ExpressRoute, networking, file services, compute services, Log Analytics, Monitor, etc.
- Azure Automation and Update Management
- Azure Migrate & Backup
- Azure Policy and Compliance
- Intermediate experience working with Microsoft Teams, especially Phone Systems and related services.
- Intermediate experience with voice platforms, Session Border Controllers (SBC), SIP routing, and voice interactions and Contact Centers.
- Experience with migrating identity and messaging, and email between on-premises forests and hybrid/forest-to-cloud migrations.
- Intermediate experience leveraging Active Directory (Users, Groups, OU’s, and Group Policy Objects) and complete understanding of core infrastructure services, including DNS, DHCP, file services, clustering, DFS, and other foundation services.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze, explain, and document methodically.
- Ability to work with limited oversight with a self-starter expectation to complete work task(s).
- Possess flexibility with clients’ visions and directions without compromising quality.
